Through the 20% by 2010 campaign, we will help to prove to all Connecticut citizens – and to the nation- that clean energy is real, its here and its working."
The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund had been brought to my attention at a recent Board of Education meeting in Hamden. I was surprised to find out that for every house hold in Hamden that switches to a clean energy resource, the Town of Hamden receives a credit towards solar panels to be installed at Municipal buildings, schools etc. If you are a Hamden resident or pass through Hamden you may have noticed the one’s at the new Middle School. These were given to Hamden with these credits through the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund. Now you might be saying to yourself “clean energy is more expensive than what I am currently using.” This is true…but so is a tax increase. I believe this fund gives us an opportunity to help our town save on energy cost run through the year and allows us as residents to do our part to sustain a better life and environment for our children and future generations. Hamden committed to this campaign 4 years ago and we still have a long way to go. If we lead by example people are sure to follow.
